Your Key Responsibilities:

Stantec seeks motivated individuals with 2 to 5 years of experience to help support and participate in the continuous growth of our services in the greenhouse gas management and climate change/resiliency markets. The ideal candidate will have an interest in the technical and social issues associated with the impacts of greenhouse gases in the built and natural environment.

As part of our team, you will assist with:
  • Development of greenhouse gas (GHG)/carbon inventories and strategy for clients
  • Provision of third-party GHG verification services
  • Reporting and preparation of strategy, action planning
  • Synthesis and presentation of data
  • Preparation of proposals and scoping of projects
  • Collaboration with clients and expand client relationships that generate repeat business
  • Staying up to date on industry trends and reporting frameworks
  • Presenting to various audiences and clients
  • Collaboration with colleagues to offer full suite of supporting services

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Experience with the quantification of GHG emissions from industrial and community settings, using relevant protocols (e.g. WRI GHG Protocol)
  • Experience with regulations and program requirements for GHG inventory development
  • Experience with verification of GHG inventories and claims of emission reductions
  • Knowledge of and/or certification in relevant standards (e.g. ISO 14064:1/2/3)
  • Strong quantitative and computer skills with Microsoft Office software
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Flexibility in scheduling is required for occasional travel
  • Facilitation and engagement experience/knowledge considered an asset
  • Experience with environmental, social and governance reporting, and/or Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures is considered an asset
  • Must have a good driving record and valid driver's license

Education and Experience
  • A Bachelor's degree relevant to the role
  • 2-5 years of related experience necessary, or relevant post graduate degree in lieu of full work experience.
