Job Overview

Equipment Testing & Troubleshooting
- Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
- Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with operators or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- The grain maintenance and operations employee will need to be versed in operating the loco's at all Key Cooperative rail facilities.
- The grain maintenance and operations employee will need to provide assistance in building, tarping, and picking up Key's grain piles.
- Proficient in operating Key's grain elevator facilities.
- Proficient in operating and servicing Key's grain dryers.
- Perform the dumping and receiving of producer's grain.
- Keeps the Location Manager informed of operational, customer, vendors, or employee issues that may arise.
- Promotes the business with existing and potential customers.
- Exhibits good customer relations skills.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
- Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Fabricates and repairs other wooden structures.
- Cleans up grain spills; assists in keeping all inside and outside work areas extremely neat and orderly.
- Continuously follows the safety guidelines and safety programs established by Key Cooperative
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Need to have a high level of proficiency in one of the following four trades with a minimum of three years of experience to support it: Welding, Experience as a journeyman electrician, Grain Millwrighting, and/or Grain Facility Maintenance.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- SDA grain weighing and grading license Pest Control Applicators License of grade 7-E would be beneficial.
