Job Description and Qualifications

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, has an immediate opening for a Global Construction Technology Manager.

This position reports to the Global Construction Director and this role is for a subject matter expert experienced in leading, developing, managing, and implementing construction software, tools, work processes, and strategies including construction planning, advanced work package and workface planning concepts leading to optimized constructability and field execution strategies for industrial capital projects. The candidate will work closely with Project Management, Procurement, and Engineering teams for successful mid-sized and very large project delivery.

This position will provide leadership, experience, and oversight to identifying and implementing tools and systems on a global basis for construction planning, advanced work packaging, collaboration and integration with engineering and procurement teams, risk identification and mitigation, constructability reviews and strategy, and on-site construction contract management.

The ideal candidate will have extensive industrial construction experience in oil, gas, power, chemical, or similar process industries along with a proven track record of implementing digitization and automation solutions in both planning and field construction execution phases, across engineering and procurement disciplines, and must include advanced work packaging, workface planning, site material control, quality control, site engineering information management, safety observations, document control and field construction project controls for various contracting strategies. The candidate must be able to draw upon significant field construction experience and understand the value of advanced work packaging concepts to develop successful construction execution strategies which deliver predictable project outcomes.

Specific Job Functions of this position are:
Leadership, passion, and mindset for driving safety, health, and well-being culture, value of risk identification and avoidance, continuous improvement, value of tools and automation, and vision of construction strategies that drive overall project execution performance.
Ability to implement construction IT tools and work processes successfully on a global scale.
Drive work packaging and best in class constructability into the engineering and design execution strategies (including area and design package breaks, sequence, schedule, modularization options, construction work packaging, etc.).

The position requires at a minimum:
Minimum of 10 years (total) of construction engineering experience in aspects of engineering/design, procurement, and field construction execution.
An engineering, business, or construction university degree is preferred.
Proven experience with industrial construction IT tools, construction management and work package software.
Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
Proven record of success in safety, environmental, quality and employee involvement.
Demonstrated strong commitment to employee involvement, leadership, team building and diversity
