The Indiana Municipal Power Agency is a not-for-profit, wholesale electric generation and transmission company located in Carmel, Indiana. At IMPA, we support 61 communities in Indiana and Ohio through providing low-cost, reliable, and environmentally responsible electricity, as well as a variety of other services to help in the overall success of each town or city.

Our team is seeking a detail-oriented individual to assist with the reporting, engineering, and analysis of the operation and maintenance of our generation resources. These resources include a combination of natural gas, coal and solar. This full-time position will work with our generation team and will be based in our Carmel office.

What You'll Bring to the Table:

• A Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology, electrical or mechanical preferred.
• Some experience in plant operations, maintenance and/or environmental compliance work in a utility environment is a plus.
• Previous experience or an interest in learning about power generation electrical and control systems or power generation mechanics.
• Strong organizational, business software, and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to travel to our generating facilities, primarily within the state of Indiana and periodically overnight.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Monitoring and preparing reports on our jointly owned generating units.
• Assisting with the operations and engineering of our owned and operated generating units.
• Ensuring operations are consistent with our environmental permits and regulations
• Assist with coordinating the maintenance programs and projects for the generating units to ensure resources are available to meet our member requirements.
• Help develop our annual operation & maintenance and capital budgets and projections.
• Assist with planning for major outages for our generation units.
