Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Laborer position in the Global Utilities Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will operate the machinery utilized in the production and fabrication process or assist machine operators in production. Additionally, you willâ

Examine products visually to ensure high quality standards are upheld

Observe and detect malfunctions in equipment operations and notify operators of any malfunctions

Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items manually or using a hoist

Start and operate machines and other equipment to begin the production process

Measure product amounts, lengths of extruded articles, or weights of filled containers to specification

Ensure work area, machines, equipment, and products are cleaned and washed

What it takes

Required Qualifications

The ability to work in a noisy and dusty environment

The ability to stand and walk up to 95% of the shift

The ability to accurately use and read a tape measure

The ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions

The ability to identify and communicate maintenance or product problems to departmental supervision

The ability to perform basic math functions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing

Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

High School diploma or GED equivalent

One year of previous experience operating hand and/or power tools

One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment

The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner

The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues

Must have a high awareness for safety at all times

Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
