Monday - Friday 7a - 5p, Paid Weekly

Recycling Yard General Labor / Yard Associate / Scale Operator Position Summary:
The General Laborer is responsible for inspecting, grading and purchasing non-ferrous materials. Input and inventory all purchased transactions. Package and ship material as required by sales orders.
This position is in a Scrap Yard for vehicles. It is exposed to the elements of the weather.

Forklift or hilo
Customer Service, warehouse, shipping and receiving, scale operation.
Recycling Yard General Labor / Yard Associate / Scale Operator Essential Functions:
Interact with customers regarding the purchase of their materials.
Buy and sell scrap metals
Identify and sort materials, removing and/or upgrading when possible.
Input and record transaction data in computer system.
Operate hi-lo, loader and/or manual processing equipment as needed.
Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
Inventory and ship material as needed.
Work closely with customers to weigh materials and advise on material costs during drop offs.
Recycling Yard General Labor / Yard Associate / Scale Operator Knowledge - Skills - Abilities
Basic knowledge of various metals is desired
Computer skills and multitasking is required
A desire to grow and advance within the company
Scale Operator experience is desired
Previous customer service experience is required
Construction, farm, demolition, mechanic, oil change technician experience is desired.
Hilo and forklift experience is desired
Team oriented
Flexibility and adaptability to working in various elements (cold, hot, etc.)
Basic organizational, interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds
This is a warehouse/ scrap yard. It is a mixture of working inside and outside and requires physical labor. Safety is our number one priority.
