Job Summary:

We are currently looking to fill a Paving Foreman position, reporting to the Construction Manager. The Paving Foreman will be responsible for daily reporting, payroll entry and material quantities. Must be able to transition seamlessly from one task to another.

Essential Functions:

1. Supervise workers. Train new employees or manages their training. Match employees with specific tasks based on their skill or expertise, updates workers about schedule changes and deadlines. Additionally, explains how to complete tasks; makes certain workers adhere to safety and security procedures
2. Supervise project activities are accurately report on a daily basis, to include material delivered to the plant; material shipped from the plant; employee/crew time sheets; equipment usage; purchase orders; tickets; invoices, and customer sales
3. Communicate with the Plant Manager for the daily material orders
4. Knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved in highway and road construction and asphalt paving and asphalt plant operations. Must be able to plan, allocate resources, manage production and coordinate people and equipment
5. Must have a thorough knowledge of, and commitment to, industry best practices and leading safety programs
6. Communicate with the public and to customers in a professional, courteous and respectful manner, appropriately responding to their complaints.
7. Ensure employees operate vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly, safely transport liquid asphalt, aggregates, PII liquid products, and other materials and equipment in a safe and responsible manner, as assigned
8. Ensure employees keep Company equipment/vehicles free from damage, in acceptable condition, and consistently clean
9. Comply with Hours of Service regulations, keep proper logs as required

Requirements, Education and Experience:

1. 3 years construction experience, preferred
2. Knowledge of construction operations and specifications
3. Analytical and problem-solving skills
4. An understanding of job cost
5. High School Diploma or GED, preferred
6. Proficient verbal and written English
7. Legal right to work in the U.S.
