Job Description:

This position will be responsible for the overall layout of text and visual elements that make up the installation instruction, specification sheets & product/system layouts. This position will meet with the engineering & sales department to determine the primary information for each product and then be responsible for refining that information into user friendly documents. Additionally, the technical designer will create drawings from available CAD models using AutoCAD or Solidworks. Other layout work will be done using Adobe InDesign software.

Responsibilities

Edit and format new or revised documents

• Provide assistance with development of new and revised documents
• Interpret information and organize it properly for accuracy, readability and format

The ideal candidate would possess:

Strongly skilled in word processing and document formatting

Able to edit documents quickly and efficiently

Adheres to and applies standard document formats while maintaining technical content of new and revised documents

Able to effectively proofread documents prepared by self and others for content and others to ensure accuracy.

learn and understand concepts and processes

Strong organizational and communication

Experience in lighting is a bonus

Qualifications:

Associates degree in Engineering or equivalent experience

1 to 5 years experience in Solidworks or AutoCAD

Required Software knowledge:

Microsoft Office

Solidworks; or AutoCAD
