Job Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operation of the accounting department & will report to the CFO.
  • Works with the CFO to update the business plan and financial forecast
  • Runs reports, dashboards, and internal audits to find opportunities & areas for process improvement.
  • Creates reports by exporting data from our enterprise software MarkSystems to be used for Dashboards, reports & forecasting.
  • Own the General Ledger. Manage the staff to ensure month-end close processes are completed timely.
  • Budgeting, forecasting & analyzing cost and profits by project.
  • Have operational involvement with project managers on job costs, margins, and forecasting.
  • Drive continuous process improvement, including working cross-functionally, to create repeatable, consistent best practices that enable scale.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations
  • Promote an atmosphere of accountability that focuses on quality and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain state registrations, business and tax licenses, etc.
  • Ensure Management is informed and aware of important changes, happenings, and any other pertinent information.
  • Perform other duties and ad hoc requests as needed.


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Oversee the accounting team

Minimum Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  2. Must have at least seven years of experience in accounting/finance.
  3. Must have advanced Microsoft Excel Skills with knowledge of SQL query structures.
  4. Preferred experience with Power BI and Crystal reports.
  5. Preferred auditing experience within the construction industry.
  6. Preferred experience with cash flow modeling.
  7. Think out of the box. Demonstrate problem-solving skills by using persistence and the ability to overcome obstacles.
  8. Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Gmail, and Google Docs.
  9. Must have a vehicle and a valid driver's license

Other Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the home building industry is required.
  • Prefer previous experience working with MarkSystems.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
