Fill Room Operator
Monday 7AM-5:30PM (9.5 hours)
Tues-Fri 5AM-3:30PM (10.5 hours)
30 minute lunch
Employee will work 48 hours/week
The purpose of this position is to operate packaging fill equipment to produce quality, shippable ready product for our customer base.
Operators in this position are responsible for safely, effectively and efficiently operating fill lines in the packaging plant by using the packaging fill schedule and coordinating with the packaging, FSQR, and maintenance leadership and operators.
Essential Duties
Safely, effectively and efficiently operate box erectors (both manual and mechanical), bag inserters, de-cuffers, box closers (both manual and mechanical), palletizers, weight scales, box printers, label applicators, and filler systems. Perform and document all required checks and inspections. Collect, mark and record samples. Understand and complete all required production paperwork. Must coordinate with production, maintenance and FSQR leadership and operators to ensure product is ran correctly and in the proper sequence and equipment is properly maintained and functioning on multiple lines. Develop a deep knowledge of packaging equipment, including minor adjustments, proper LO/TO and safety features of all equipment. Perform any other duties as requested by the production supervisor.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• Basic computer skills (SAP/MII experience preferred)
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Good mechanical comprehension skills
• Ability to read and understand all written processes and procedures
• Able to work overtime as needed across all shifts, including weekends
• Able to lift 50 pounds
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods
• Must know or be able to learn all of the packaging lines
• Ability to work well with others
• Demonstrated ability to have high level of attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to work with teams
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
