Protech Business Solutions is seeking Field Service Technicians for our client, one of the largest industrial packaging equipment manufacturers in the industry!

A field service technician is a vital role in our customer service field and is hands-on - individuals who apply must enjoy rolling up their sleeves and be accustomed to labor-intensive jobs, think outside of the box, have an eye for premium quality and have a love for travel.

Work is year-round, full-time and requires travel within the United States as requested.

Field Service Technician duties and responsibilities

Perform all on-site activities related to installation, repair, management and maintenance

Track and document the progress of the work

Team up with colleagues and other team members to deliver exceptional customer service

Build relationships and trust with customers and clients

Retrofits department technicians are responsible to de-bug equipment and are sent on service calls. The technician will be responsible to propose improvement to the equipment or sales of spare parts. This individual will normally be at a customer site for a short period of time (couple of days) and visit multiple customers during the same week and requires a background in customer service and sales.

Our installation and Commissioning field service technician's role is to install new equipment to the customer location, perform install testing and train the operators on site. This role will mainly work in small teams of mechanical, electrical, specialized team members. The field service technician will normally be on site of our client location for a week or more at a time. We offer a generous overtime pay package or any hours worked over 40 hours during the week.

Field Service Technician requirements and qualifications

3 years of experience in Field Service Technician or similar role

Experience with managing and preserving technical equipment

Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

Team player

Good time-management skills

Great interpersonal and communication skills

Training Requirement

College Diploma in Electrical Engineering or any equivalent training that includes specialties in mechanics, electrics, hydraulics and pneumatics.

Interpreting assembly drawings

Interpreting hydraulic drawings

Interpreting pneumatic drawings

Interpreting electrical drawings

Interpreting floor layouts

How PLCs and their components work

How robots and their components work

Industrial networks and communication protocols

Interactions between mechanical systems (including pneumatics and hydraulics) and electrical systems, controllers and robots
