A good fit for a hands-on construction-based and flexible engineer with a focus on mechanical (HVAC, pumps, piping) elements. This position requires working closely with structural, electrical, I&C and welding engineering to identify and resolve issues in a collaborative environment. Looking for a self-starter who can work with minimal oversight. You, as Field Engineer, are responsible for working with the Engineer of Record, and Contractor to ensure designs are accurately implemented in the field, all testing is completed as required, and documentation is correct during handover to commissioning.
This position has a limited term through the construction of our Diagnostic facility anticipated at this time to be completed by December 31, 2023. Bonus compensation on successful project completion will be outlined in job offer packages.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Utilize information available to develop a plan of action for resolving issues in the field, including reviewing drawings, submittals and 3D model.
- Provide technical advice and work with General Contractor and SHINE Engineering / external design agencies to solve design problems.
- Be a champion for safety by executing walkdowns in a safe manner, and coaching others, when needed to improve overall site safety.
- Constantly learn technical knowledge of the production facility design, regulatory requirements, and project status, and translate this knowledge into reports, schedules, plans and other tools needed to drive the project to completion.
- Perform site inspections to verify mechanical work scopes are completed in alignment with design requirements and provide solutions for non-conforming designs.
- Work with SHINE engineering to conduct constructability reviews of designs.
- Interface and collaborate with external stakeholders (engineer of record, contractors and vendors) to advance SHINE project goals.
- Plan, execute, and manage installation contracts which support mechanical, structural, welding and/or electrical scope elements - as required.
- Identify and track items adverse to Quality.
- Work with and assist all divisions of the company to execute activities required to complete the production facility and establish commercial operation.
- Assisting the Field Engineering Manager in managing General Contractor, including contractual, logistical, and technical requirements.
- Have a can-do attitude when tackling field issues, and exemplifying personal accountability by following through on design changes to completion.
- Respond to incoming RFIs (Requests For Information), and draft FCRs (Field Change Requests) including drawing markups with technical and formal accuracy.
- Other duties as assigned by the Field Engineering Manager.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical preferred) with a minimum of five (5) years' experience in one or more areas of construction or project management (e.g., work execution, work planning, managing contracts, field engineering etc.)
- 10 years' experience as a field engineer in any one of the focused disciplines including mechanical engineering may be substituted in lieu of the education requirement
- Ability to work in a team environment and to take directions as well as think independently
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret construction drawings, specifications, procedures, and government regulations
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Word and Outlook, as well as Adobe or other PDF markup tool.
- Ability to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, and lift 25 lbs.
- Industry experience in construction or operations of nuclear facilities (Part 50 or 70) preferred.
