OVERVIEW:
Construction Innovations is seeking candidates who are self-motivated, mechanically inclined, enjoy building things with their hands, and want to travel extensively to serve as Field Coordinators on the electrical portions of commercial building, industrial and/or utility scale solar projects. This entry-level position supports the technical installation and design of electrical construction projects, while providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviewing project scope and design specifications.
- Assist in the development of installation plans and material lists for all electrical and support infrastructure with consideration for project requirements.
- Suggesting innovative ideas for product improvement and new product creation throughout the design and the field installation processes.
- Collaborating with field installation crew to coordinate best methods of installation.
- Participating in development of the project construction schedule.
- Monitoring and recording equipment and labor productivity for on-site installation and excavation activities.
- Updating project installation schedules.
- Assisting with the identification and tracking of change request material and labor.
- Working in construction environments including building construction, industrial plants, utility scale PV solar plants, and other renewable energy plants.
- Coordinating technical support for installation electricians.
- Traveling to project job sites (up to 100% working time away from office).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid drivers license is required.
- Extensive travel within the United States required.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- On-site or installation experience on electrical or construction projects is preferred.
- Design and/or engineering experience in electrical power and/or distribution systems a plus.
- Understanding of electrical materials, and construction means and methods is preferred.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, mechanical, or electrical trades is a plus.
The Field Coordinator position splits time between both office and field environments. The office is an open and collaborative environment where you will work both independently and with the team to ensure that project requirements are met. When on-site, you will often be in fairly remote rural locations, possibly in extreme weather conditions. This position is expected to provide exceptional service to the customer, answering questions and ensuring that products are delivered and installed as expected, but will also spend significant time working independently.
