Facilities Project Engineer (Hybrid Role)
Position Summary
The Facilities Project Engineer will be responsible for facilities project management for Kaplan and GHC facility-related projects.

Primary Responsibilities
Plan, implement, and maintain the infrastructure and equipment of buildings and facilities, i.e. car dealerships, and t.v. stations, manufacturing facilities, office buildings
Perform analyses of operational processes, resource allocation, energy use, and safety process, and recommend and implement improvements.
Provide a level of technical support during the planning and installation of various project items, including vendor coordination efforts
Coordinates and oversees the activities of service providers including support of problem resolution for various building systems
Inspects buildings to detect malfunctions and needed repairs making notes and recommendations using a pre-established check sheet
Development of quotes, bids and requests for proposals (RFP)
Follows preventative maintenance standards that are in compliance with Kaplan guidelines.
Lead and/or assist with assigned capital improvement projects, installations, and repairs as delegated by the Real Estate, Design/Construction, and Facilities team.
Provide oversight to ensure the quality of work performed.
Communicate regularly with the manager and project stakeholders.
Attend and participate in scheduled staff meetings/calls.
Maintain preventive maintenance contracts on all base building and critical system equipment which includes but is not limited to: scheduling and supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
B.S./B.A. or technical-related degree
Minimum of three years of related experience and training
Experience with Corporate facilities and various building systems
Basic knowledge of financial terms and principles
Intermediate skills with Google/Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency with AutoCAD is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of three years of related experience and training
Self-starter; ability to work independently
Experience with Corporate Facilities and various building systems.
Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
Excellent customer service skills are required.
Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
Ability to understand and interpret architectural drawings
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Knowledge of building process and construction principles
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Familiar with computer equipment and programs. Capable of operating a Building Management System (BMS), Fire Alarm, and other ancillary equipment.
Working knowledge in project management
