Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

The Facilities Lead is responsible for assisting the Facilities Supervisor in overseeing the Facilities department as well as performing and overseeing preventive and routine sanitation/maintenance tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, ACCOUNTABILITIES AND SUPPORTING ACTIVITIES:

Assist with and perform installation, maintenance, repair and construction in the basic building maintenance trades, such as carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, locksmith, and mechanics.
Troubleshoot and provide minor maintenance or replacement to equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other mechanical equipment and those involving electrical, structural, and plumbing systems.
Maintain monthly maintenance logs (e.g. fire extinguisher, exit lights, lights, freezer temp monitoring etc.)
Ensure compliance with company and regulatory product quality standards, sanitation standards, food safety standards, employee safety and environmental standards
Oversee all aspects of sanitation per the master sanitation schedule and ensure that tasks are safely and satisfactorily completed
Assist with developing and maintaining documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), as well as manuals, programs, policies and procedures as they relate to facilities while keeping current with changing requirements
Manage sta , enforcing GMP's, employee documentation and safety training and holding parties accountable to department expectations, processes and procedures
Work closely with the Sanitation & Food Safety Supervisor on coaching employees.
Must be able to delegate work tactfully and efficiently with employees within the department
Work safely at all times and comply with all safety policies and procedures, acting as a role model to team
Assist with RGA Clerk responsibilities (Return Goods Authorizations, see Returns Clerk job description)
Coach, observe and evaluate new hires
Help maintain the facilities, equipment and grounds in good working order and cleanliness including removing snow/ice from exterior entrances/exits creating a safe work environment throughout the facility, building and dismantling warehouse racking and other various functions
Help identify opportunities for continuous improvement and then assist driving the process to impact the results

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES:

Ability to proficiently read, write and understand English, including identifying numbers
Candidate must have reliable transportation, solid attendance and a positive, professional attitude
Sense of urgency and confidence to handle and prioritize a variety of situations
Manage multiple projects while working independently with minimal to no supervision
Excellence in time management and organizational skills with high degree of initiative
Working knowledge of quality practices and procedures and the ability to coordinate programs and provide improvements
Great understanding of distribution center procedures and up-to-date industry knowledge
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, and with third parties
Excellent documentation and follow up skills
Solid computer skills, experience with Google Suite
Flexible schedule and being able to work weekends and early mornings
Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety and food safety precautions
Working knowledge of GMPs, food defense, pest control and food safety preferred
Skill in using hand and power tools and ability to operate pallet jack, forklift and various warehouse equipment
Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the maintenance and repair within the warehouse distribution center
Prioritizing and performing multiple tasks with detailed reporting follow-up, as well as understanding, supporting and executing facility compliance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education

High school diploma

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of Facilities experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment preferred
Minimum of 1 year of progressive leadership experience within a team
