Job Overview

Overview

The Facilities Engineer position will be based in San Antonio, TX area (78259), reporting to the Engineering Pipeline Facilities Manager. This position provides engineering support across the asset for a wide variety of topics, with a primary focus on project managing and providing mechanical / process engineering support.

Responsibilities
  • The Facilities Engineer will be working with upstream asset teams for planning, scoping, estimating, and executing various projects being assigned by the asset team
  • The Facility Engineer to provide engineering services to the asset team, facilitate construction phase of projects and oversee design to installation
  • Projects scopes to include well interconnects, flowlines, production facilities, central tank batteries, compressor stations and product pipelines.
  • Prepares project specific scoping to construction - Process flow, BOM, VRU sizing, CTB and well pad plot plan, SOW, C&E, etc.
  • Knowledge of industry facility design standards and codes - OSHA, ASME, API, etc.
  • Supports production team during flowback with facility design limitations and troubleshooting
  • Manage capital/LOE project spend and budget as it relates to surface facility work
  • Performing "Lookbacks" on the execution of facility activities, identify lessons-learned, and establish improved guidelines and practices
  • Act as key interface to ensure regulatory and HSE compliance
  • Develop projects that improve the safety and operability of the facility
  • Serve as technical authority for process engineering within team and provide technical guidance during PHA's
  • Travel to field locations as required
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Petroleum, Mechanical Engineering
  • 3+ years work experience in upstream oil and gas engineering required (midstream experience preferred)
  • Driven, detailed, and goal oriented individual with strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing demands on resources
  • Understanding of applicable industry codes
  • Ability to communicate effectively and deal with internal groups, external suppliers, and vendors
  • Able to plan and execute engineering projects independently; Requires some supervision and review of some assignments.
  • Expertise in project management principles especially project cost management, time management, scope management and procurement management
