Rogers Group is currently seeking an individual to fill an UNDERGROUND MINER / EQUIPMENT OPERATOR position at our Whites Creek quarry, located in Nashville, TN. The successful candidate for this role will have experience operating heavy equipment and a willingness to train in operating in underground mining equipment. They must also have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. In addition to operating equipment, this individual may be required to help out on the ground maintaining safety items and keeping the mine well ventilated. General work around the quarry and other assigned duties may also be requested. Assigned duties will include: Operating a rigid frame haul truck to move material from the underground mine headings to the surface for crushing. Train on running an excavator with scaler attachment to scale rock from mine walls. Train on operating a roof bolter to secure the mine roof. Train on operating a face drill for production drilling and blasting in mine headings. Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment. Wages starting at $23.00/hr. for entry level. Higher pay for skilled construction labor, operators, and candidates with underground mining or related work experience. Some positions require no experience and Rogers Group will train. Overtime available and extensive medical and retirement benefits. QUALIFICATIONS: Uncompromising focus on safety excellence. At least one-year of proficient experience operating heavy equipment or underground mining equipment - such as a face drill, scaler, roof bolter, or loader - is preferred. Willing to work in an underground mining environment. Able to operate underground mining equipment with precision and excellence in a confined space. Must be able to work underground and outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises. Ability to pick up on new tasks quickly. Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when necessary. Self-motivated - able to work without requiring close supervision. Must pass pre-employment drug-screening.
