Experienced Service Advisor
Reports to: Service Manager
Primary Duties: Non-Exempt Position
Primary Responsibilities:
The Service Advisor is expected to
- Greet customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtains vehicle information.
- Advise customers about necessary service for routine maintenance.
- Clearly report all vehicle symptoms as described by the customer.
- Advise customers on the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Provides a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts.
- Establish promised time.
- Obtain customer's signature on repair order; provides customer with a copy.
- Inform customers of inspection results, recommend corrective procedures, and prepare work order for needed repairs.
- Explain the work performed and the repair order charges to the customer.
- Handle customer complaints and involve the service manager when necessary.
- Establish customer's method of payment. Obtains credit approval, if necessary.
- Monitor progress of each repair throughout the day. Contact customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explain cost and time requirements in detail, and get proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.
- Review repair orders to ensure that work is completed, and additional work and authorization is noted. Close repair order as appropriate.
- Implement a quality control process to eliminate comebacks.
- Handle telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Maintain an accurate time and attendance record in accordance with company policy.
- Achieve customer service satisfaction standards for repeat business anc referrals.
- Maintain consistent CSI score in accordance with company policy.
- Operate with integrity
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
- Valid drivers license.
- Proven record of achieving exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Prior experience as a Service Advisor or Sales Consultant is required.
- General Motors experience is highly preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of manufactures processes.
- Experience with CDK and X-Time is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Work performed in an office and shop setting.
- Exposure to shop environments such as noise, dust, odors and fumes, chemicals, and adhesives.
- Required to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, use hands and fingers, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls.
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.
- Required vision include close vision.
- Required to operate equipment and always move vehicles in a safe manner.
