ESTIMATOR

New York City based high-end residential builder is seeking an experienced Estimator.

Responsibilities:

Determine material and labor costs for a variety of luxury residential construction projects including additions, alterations and gut renovations.

Prepare accurate quantity take offs and materials pricing

Compare, organize and analyze competitive subcontractor and supplier bids

Review quotes and estimates with project management team

Perform pre-construction duties including pre-construction meeting with clients, subcontractors and material vendors

Work with project manager to create and maintain schedule for all subcontractors and vendors

Serve as company interface between clients and architects while developing and maintaining good communications between all team members including client, subcontractors and project team

Present estimate to client and discuss potential savings and value engineering if requested

Procure project materials and negotiate pricing

Timely and effectively communicate with owners and back office on project budgets, costs and change orders

Build and expand subcontractor and vendor base

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimation in high-end residential construction

Strong knowledge of building and construction processes

Strong math, analytical skills and an eye for detail

Strong ability read and interpret architectural plans

Must exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills

Must possess strong computer skills and be at highly proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook

Experience and proficiency in estimating software
