We are looking for candidates for the position of Estimator working in our Indianapolis, IN Division.

In this position you will assist the Operation Manager and/or Senior Estimator in the coordination of sales, construction and administrative functions by performing all estimating and processing of all jobs and change orders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Estimate and process all market and built-to-order production homes
• Estimate and process all change orders and communicate to trade contractors and vendors as required
• Prepare job file and plan review packets
• Prepare builder pack for change orders and final releases of market homes
• Redline plans, review plans, selections and change orders prior to job release
• Review estimates for accuracy and completeness
• Assist with pricing and re-pricing products
• Communicate with trade partners and oversee cost codes
• Prepare detailed estimates and purchase orders for all product in a timely manner while ensuring accuracy
• Utilize estimating software to verify take-offs and resolve disputes
• Maintain vendor pricing and Bill of Materials, option and option pricing in JD Edwards vendors
• Establish working relationships with vendors/subcontractors to enhance effective communication
• Other duties as assigned

Desired Knowledge and Skills:

• College degree in Construction Management, Construction Technology, Accounting or related field of study or relevant work experience
• Strong computer skills including Excel, Word and Outlook
  
• Experience with JDE preferred
• Basic knowledge of residential construction
• Ability to read bid sets, architectural plans as well as construct cost estimates
• Blue print knowledge and experience preferred
• Analytical, detail-minded, team oriented and a good communicator (internal and external customers)
• A visual learner with strong organizational skills
• Self-motivated to be able to multi-task and meet deadlines
• A problem solver who can take ownership of projects
• Experience working in a construction related capacity a real plus

The schedule of this position will be Monday - Friday from 8 AM - 5 PM plus additional hours as necessary.
