Pay: $70,000 + DOE

• Preparation of bids includes:
  • Performing all quantity takeoffs, or oversee takeoffs performed by others, using Agtek, Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel.
  • Site visits to determine current condition of property.
  • Attend Prebid Meetings if applicable.
  • Submit timely RFI to owner / engineer to ensure accurate proposals.
  • Soliciting quotes from subs and suppliers. Provide ample time and quantities for vendors & subs to provide accurate quotes. Assist vendors / Subs in preparing responsible quotes.
  • Assist estimator in preparing the estimate in B2W Estimate.
  • Ensure that all applicable information (quotes, correspondence, addenda, etc.) is in appropriate folder in electronic bid folder for use by others.
  • Once a job is won, prepare Sodding, Sidewalk, Cut-Fill reports and other various exhibits to ensure proper hand-off to project management team.
  • Assist Estimator in preparation for hand off meetings with the project management team.
  • Periodically visit active construction sites to ensure understanding of construction process.
  • Assist PMs in preparing change orders as needed.

• Develop professional business relationships with clients, colleagues, vendors, and other project and estimating related persons as appropriate.
• Attend functions and events with clients and engineers to help improve relationships as required.

Job Requirements:

• 3+ years experienced as an estimator.
• A degree in engineering, construction science or construction management preferred.
• It is not a must to be certified, but certification increases job prospects, especially if certified by the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE).
• Excellent customer service skills, verbal, and oral communication.
• Excellent time management and scheduling skills.
• Work under pressure.
• Proficient in using computer applications.
• Excellent mathematics, especially algebra, calculus, and statistics.
• Basic engineering knowledge such as knowledge of procedures equipment and project designing.
• Conversant with other subjects like accounting and economics.
• Proficient in computers and electronic equipment used in construction.
