Job Summary:
Operate a variety of equipment utilized in road, site, and highway construction

Essential Functions:
1. Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in road, site, or highway construction operations including Pugmills, Chipper, Graders, and other various equipment as needed.
2. Assist in maintenance and other physical duties needed on site
3. Wear all required personal protective equipment.
4. Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Report problems to the attention of the Construction Manager.
5. Follow Daily Procedures & Protocols as set forth in job orientations & trainings
6. Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to supervisor, clean equipment.
7. Communicate with coworkers and supervisor in person and using two-way radios
8. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

Requirements, Education and Experience:
1. Two years of experience in operating heavy equipment, preferred
2. High School Diploma or GED, preferred
3. Proficient verbal and written English
4. Legal right to work in the U.S.
5. Valid driver's license

Travel:
Position may require up to 100% travel by personal vehicle to project locations throughout the state of New York and New England based on the needs of the business.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:
This position works indoors and outdoors at times in inclement weather. Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100 lb. or more. This position works on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time as well as lifting, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching, driving, and repetitive motion.
