This is a good full-time weekday job working for a great employer in NE Portland. The Equipment Operator will operate a variety of heavy machinery throughout the day including: Forklift, Front-end Loader, Baler and more but also needs to be a team player and help out with customers and coworkers as needed. You will be a part of recycling operations, helping to keep our planet green. The company hiring for this role has been at the forefront of recycling in Portland for decades and has several locations and room for long-term growth.

Schedule: Weekdays days-shift and as-needed to meet production goals.

Starting pay: $18/hour if you have directly relevant work experience: but the company will also train the right person for the role at $16-$17/hr.

Qualifications of a successful candidate are:

Safe, experienced equipment operator (forklift, front end loader, yard-goat, & baler).
Participate in inspection of equipment
Assist in inspections of site conditions
Assist customers in the public depot and buyback area when needed
Perform other job related duties as assigned by management
Understands the importance of safety
Assists team in creating highest quality baled products

Skills and Abilities:

2+ years experience operating heavy equipment
Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Must be self-motivated and be able to work alone at times
Possess excellent customer service skills
Work cooperatively with a diverse workforce
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Basic math aptitude
Responsible and reliable
Willing to participate in continuing education and job enhancement courses
Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
Preferred valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
