Summary
The Environmental ServicesTechnician (EVS Tech) works under the supervision of the DIRECTOR-Environmental Services. Provides cleaning inpatient and non-patient areas,moves furniture, and performs a variety of miscellaneous responsibilitiesnecessary to maintain a sanitary, safe, orderly and attractive environment.
The Linen Services Associate works under the supervision of the Laundry Manager of Linen Services. The department caregivers are responsible for soiled linen pickup, sorting, washing, drying, finishing and delivery of linens to using departments and customers.
This position is employed by Mosaic Health System.
Duties
Environmental Services:
Demonstrates proper hand hygiene anduse of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Demonstrates knowledge and properuse of cleaning and disinfecting chemicals.
Performs daily cleaning of eachoccupied patient room and terminal cleaning of discharged patient rooms,following the appropriate cleaning checklist.
Performs cleaning of publicrestrooms, common, and ancillary areas throughout the facility and replenishesEVS supplies as assigned.
Demonstrates the ability to properlyempty waste receptacles, change needle (sharps) containers, and transportsregular and bio-hazard waste to appropriate destinations.
Maintains hard surface and carpetfloors using various equipment and machines.
Assist in the clean-up of spillssuch as mercury, chemo, or formalin with appropriate spill kits.
Maintains work area in a manner thatis conducive to an orderly and efficient workflow, where distractions frompersonal belongings are minimized.
Lifts and transports patient roomfurniture to designated areas.
Performs cleaning of internalwindows within height guidelines, vents, walls, and light fixtures, and changescubicle curtains as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Linen:
Retrieves soiled linens from all locations and accounts, delivers soiled linen to the Laundry building using proper precautions and procedures.
Sorts soiled linens using proper precautions and procedures.
Operates each piece of equipment to include but not limited to Washers, Dryers, CBW, Press, all finishing equipment and delivery vehicles with knowledge of safe usage.
Fills all standing and received linen orders neatly and accurately.
Delivers linen orders to all locations and accounts accurately and in a timely manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Environmental Services: CPI training required within 6 months of hire.
Linen Services: If operating a motor vehicle for business purposes must have chauffeurs license within 90 days of assignment and renew prior to expiration. # INDLC
