We are actively hiring for an Entry-Level Survey Field Technician to join a local Structural Engineering firm in Indianapolis, IN! This individual will be working out in the field with a Crew Chief to learn and perform various survey duties, such as setting up equipment, cutting line, and collecting survey data. This is a certified Minority Business Enterprise that is actively interested in candidates with minimal experience but high commitment to learning and establishing a new career. The Surveying industry has been booming with business, so this is an excellent way for someone to get on-the-job experience that can lead to a fruitful career!

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist a Survey team on projects to successfully deliver survey field and office projects
• Learn to review construction drawings, section corner ties, benchmarks, deeds and plats
• Assist with the preparation of survey field packs, site data collection, drafting and final ALTA - Topographic Surveys
• Learn boundary and Right of Way determination
• Detailed CAD drafting, contour development, and finished product drafting for client delivery
• Receive and utilize on-the-job training to eventually become a crew chief (potential career path to license surveyor is available)

Job Requirements:

• Ability to work as part of a team
• Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure on multiple project deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail, as well as exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to pick up on new concepts/ideas quickly, stay self-motivated, work as a team player, and be dependable/reliable
• Ability to travel across the Greater Indianapolis area, work effectively outdoors, and stay out-of-town on occasion for non-local projects
