ManTech is seeking an Engineering Technician for our growing programs in Port Hueneme, CA. The candidate will perform a variety of complex technical functions related to the support of engineering activities such as set up, operation, maintenance, modification, circuit testing, calibration and troubleshooting of electronic or electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype modes or specialized test equipment. Applications may include analog, digital and/or video type circuits and logic systems. Diagnoses and corrects equipment and system malfunctions which fail to respond to standard corrective measures. Develops or evaluates test procedures, determines circuit requirements and develops diagnostics prototype modes. Generates rough sketches and engineering drawings and special techniques for control and implementation of research experiments. Prepares reports, chars, and graphs for scientific and engineering personnel to use in making decision on design of experimental development. Additionally, the candidate must have electrical engineering experience that includes the following:
• Assist in providing electrical equipment material condition assessments and troubleshooting.
• Assist the engineer in organizing and executing advanced planning efforts in order to meet key event and document due dates.
• Have knowledge of other engineering fields in order to solve problems or refer to experts and be familiar with UNREP equipment and evolutions.
• Responsible for installation, removal, restore, repair, test, fabrication techniques and requirements for various electrical/electronic related to UNREP equipment.
Position Overview:
• Performs assessments and maintenance on UNREP receiving station equipment.
• Performs assessments and maintenance on UNREP fuel delivery and cargo delivery stations.
• Uses wiring lists, schematics, blueprints, and verbal and written instructions to route, tag, test and terminate shipboard cables.
• Familiar with Shipyard and NAVSEA installation requirements and supporting documentation.
• Must be able to pass background check for access to Shipyards and/or Naval Bases.
• Ability to work from blueprints, drawings, technical manuals, handbooks and other technical documentation.
• Lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
• This requires the ability to climb ladders aboard naval vessels.
• UNREP procedure experience highly desired.
• Must be able to work aboard a ship and in a shipyard environment.
• Welding experience desired.
• Education and Experience: High school diploma. 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Physical Requirements: Must be qualified to go underway on Naval platforms and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain a security clearance. Security clearances are only granted to U.S. citizens.
