Job Mission
The Advanced Development Center (ADC) in ASML Wilton, Connecticut is seeking is seeking an Engineering Technician with expertise in material analysis tools and verification methods. The ADC is a multi-disciplinary group of engineers and scientists focused on developing learning loop solutions, proto-typing of next generation wafer/reticle clamping systems and industrialization of proto-types that meet the system performance requirement.
This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.). As a condition of employment, qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
Job Description
The main job function is to perform material and chemical investigations and identify root causes using failure analysis tools (e.g. SEM, AFM, WLI, TOF-SIMS, FIB, etc.) on R&D proto-types, components in various manufacturing stages and customer product returns, run the forensics lab, maintain the material and surface metrology systems along with collect, organize and document data as part of a team dedicated to solving challenging engineering problems associated with achieving nanometer scale precision.
Set-up and operate failure analysis tools like (e.g. SEM, AFM, WLI,TOF-SIMS, FIB, etc.)
Owner of the Forensics lab(s)
Keep Forensics lab(s) in good working conditions
Adhering, enforcing and improving the ASML and Lab way of working and processes
In particular adhering to safety procedures, ISO standards and protocols
Perform/execute periodic maintenance of failure analysis tools in ADC
Support ADC engineers with testing during feasibility and proto phases
Provide root cause analysis during field and factory product life cycle steps
Support ADC team with engineering data taking on different metrology tools
Follow all Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures to ensure and maintain a safe working environment
Clearly communicate progress and status of ongoing technical activities to management
Perform necessary cleaning and preparation of samples for measurement
Prepare engineering documentation (e.g. Test Performance Specifications, Test Analysis Reports, etc.) and release the documents by following change control process
Write engineering procedures and train technicians to efficiently transfer the build/alignment and test process to manufacturing
Understand the existing failure techniques and their analysis methods and improve them to support the ASML technology roadmap
Support installation and qualification of new equipment
Coordinate with facilities environmental monitoring, utility requests and work orders
Order parts/equipment for lab stock, lab upgrades, safety and team members experiments
Support logistics flow of items for team members and the team as a whole
Up to 10% domestic travel may be required
Education
Associate's Degree in Material Sciences, Chemistry or other Engineering disciplines or equivalent experience
Experience
2+ years of experience using at least two of the following tools - SEM, AFM, WLI, TOF-SIMS and/or FIB
Prior experience working in the clean room environment using knowledge in material and material interaction (e.g. glass, ceramics, thin film materials, gases, etc.)
Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both written and oral
Knowledge of material, mechanicaland chemicalproperties of coatings and ceramic structure
Knowledge of MATLAB and/or LabVIEW for data collection and analysis to drive solutions
