Propulsion Systems is currently seeking an Engineering Technician 2 , to provide research operations support at the Promontory, Utah site.
Position Description

Successful candidate will work with experienced technicians to perform fabrication and assembly of test articles in support of multiple programs. Candidate will be expected to maintain a high standard of operational discipline to support clean, safe, and efficient operations and support continuous improvement using 5S and PES principles. Responsibilities will include the following:
  • Fabricate both inert and energetic samples in accordance with specific detailed instruction using various forms of equipment, adhesives, and other chemicals.
  • Read, interpret and implement technical drawings, specifications, and procedures
  • Perform processes under the direction of a principle technician following written instruction to exact specifications
  • Maintain neat and accurate records
Position Requirements
  • Associate degree in a technical field; experience in working with various types specialized testing equipment and small machinery preferred
  • Ability to receive and follow specific instructions from policies, procedures, planning and supervision.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to understand and communicate technical information with clarity.
  • Ability to read, interpret and implement technical drawings, specifications, and procedures.
  • Computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications.
  • Ability to work a physically demanding day (stand for long periods; work from your knees; ascend and descend ladders; lift, bend, twist push and pull up to 50 lbs.) while wearing protective equipment ( coveralls, gloves, eye and ear protection, etc.)
  • Must be willing to perform shift work, weekends, holidays and overtime as required
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license
  • Able to obtain an Employee Possessor designation
Education/Certifications:

• Associate degree in a technical field plus 2 years minimum related experience

Salary Range: $43,200 USD - $72,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
