The Gund Company: Take Care of Each Other, Take Care of the Customer and Take Care of the Business Job Summary: Responsible for the design, development, alteration or modification of a line(s) or type(s) of TGC's product(s). Evaluates and reports on new devices, patents, or competitive items and has some latitude for independent and original action and decision. The Engineering Project Manager is a key resource to support Business Development and New Material/Product and Process Development as well as Major Operation Projects. Shall manage approved resources to complete projects within scope, budget and on time at various locations of The Gund Company Primary Job Responsibilities: Manage and Coordinate approved engineering projects to realize ROI and to meet timeline, communicate to all stakeholders on project progress and organize project reviews as per plan. Participate in market development process and strategic growth opportunities to identify gaps requiring additional investment in resources, assist and facilitate the project charter process Design and develop materials, products and processes that meet or exceed our customer's requirements and regulatory requirements Coordination of customer qualifications and approvals Coordination of company and customer related regulatory listing (i.e., UL, IEC ) and standard compliance issues. Other Duties: Assist manufacturing facilities with the implementation of new or improved processes. Technical reporting of new material, process and key equipment capabilities (white papers). Develop technical training documents for TGC materials and processes to further educate our sales and manufacturing teams. Participate with the engineering team as a liaison with UL, NEMA, IEC, IEEE, and other industry associations. Visit key customers and suppliers regularly to help improve enterprise market and application knowledge Requirements Minimum Requirements: Engineering/Technical Degree with Minimum of Seven Years of related Experience Previous Multi-Functional and Multi-Facility Project Management Experience in a Fast Pace Environment Experience in Developing New Products, New Materials and Processes Outstanding Organizational and Computer Skills including Project Management Software Performance Driven Work Ethic with a Desire for Personal & Professional Growth Education & Experience 8+ years of demonstrated success in implementing improvements in production processes BS/MS in Engineering (EE, ME, Industrial Engineering., Knowledge of Quality Concepts (i.e. SPC, TQM, JIT) and Quality Systems (i.e. ISO 9000, Six Sigma, Zero Defects) A minimum of 10 years experience in production, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality assurance and/or operations in a certified manufacturing organization (ISO9000). Experience in materials management, from planning through purchasing, and negotiation and administration of multi-million dollar procurement agreements. Self-starter and a team player that will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
