Job Overview
Position Summary The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for being an organized, service-orientated individual to manage projects for a variety of customers. Candidate should have advanced knowledge of Kennedy Space Center facilities, processes, and systems. Former employment at KSC, aerospace industry or one of its contractors. The candidate will have to pass a high-level security/background check to ensure access to both federal and commercial customer sites. This position is responsible for communicating with a variety of departments, vendors, employees, and customers to ensure projects are completed on time and to budget. The PM will suggest additional value-added services to customers that will enhance and/or ensure the safety and efficiency of the customer's operation. Responsibilities Total responsibility for awarded jobs includes but is not limited to: Scheduling and completion of all the Aerospace projects in their entirety. The Incumbent will have the responsibility of each project from cradle to grave. This would include involvement in the upfront engineering and presentations. Costing of the project with CPM generation if required. Internal and external work scope descriptions for each phase of the project. Build and organize an efficient production schedule on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly schedule for all phases of each project in accordance with original BOM utilized in the quotation to maintain quality and project costs. Communicate satisfy customer in accordance with project quotation and ship dates. Procure direct and indirect materials utilizing RESA procedures to maintain project schedules. Review orders for completeness, accuracy and compliance with existing policies and procedures and ensure purchasing procedures and guidelines are followed. Demonstrate a continual effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline project processes and work cooperatively with other departments to provide a quality and seamless finish product. Order subcontract services as needed. Use purchase order and subcontract agreement. Maintain excellent working relations with our subcontractors while keeping within project guidelines. Maintain communications with production groups and contractors with a free exchange of information and ideas to improve scheduling, shipping, safety, and overall objectives. Coordinate scheduling meetings to meet project dates. Provide training and education to project teams as needed. Perform project take-off, estimating, engineering and Customer required paperwork such as presentations. Follow up on all deliveries of materials to ensure job stays on schedule. Use applicable RESA Power Systems to manage and complete job. Schedule jobs with customer. Generate work orders for technicians. Prioritize and formulate an appropriate schedule to execute client work. Generate accurate detailed reports, documentation requests (such as documentation review and redlining as needed), drawing updates on a timely basis. Willing to work on or field supervise projects as needed. Communicate with clients, management and their team for effective problem resolution and transfer of pertinent information. Accountable for maintaining status of projects and providing the client with this information. Conduct client communication in a highly customer service-oriented manner and potentially expand the scope of project work as well as negotiate any extra charges associated with work performed. Help manage the on-going schedule and travel planning to facilitate timely response to customers. Work may require flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and night work. All work and decisions shall be conducted in strict compliance of all regulatory law. Observe all safety rules and Best Practices; Follow all company policies and procedures. Work effectively with management and administration to ensure timely and efficient job closeout and invoicing. Required Experience and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum 8 years of experience or 10 years of a mix of education and experience (Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is strongly preferred). The candidate should have at least 10 years knowledge of electrical/electronic interfaces and integrated functions as it pertains to electrical switchgear, trip units, relays, transformers, circuit breakers, transfer switches, load break switches and wiring methods, controls, and large power distribution systems. A strong working knowledge in electrical safety standards will be needed i.e., OSHA, NFPA, NEC and NESC. The candidate will be expected to work in the field as a hands-on field engineer and have strong leadership skills to oversee working and directing RESA technical leads, contractors, and consultants to ensure project deliverables are acceptable for the client and meet contract requirements. Examples of deliverables are project scope, equipment layout, single line/three-line drawings, control schematics, project schedules, Bill of Materials, vendor documentation, recommended spare parts lists, PLC logic, SEL relay system design, arc flash and coordination studies, etc. Documentation review and redlining will be needed. Strong trouble shooting skills in control circuits and protective relays Understanding and hands on field experience of low, medium, and high voltage switchgear and systems Minimum of five years' experience in design, applications and troubleshooting of protection schemes and system, SEL, Basler, electro-mechanical (5 years Min) Project estimating abilities to reverse engineer electrical distribution systems Fully experienced and ability to use and train ACAD (5 years Min) MS office complete (10 years min) MS project or Primavera scheduling software (5years min) LV motor controls, VFD's, auto-transformer, reduced voltage MV motor controls, VFD's, soft start, direct start PLC controls, application, design, and program Complete understanding of Arc flash with knowledge of the software and training requirements Design of electrical drawing to include one-lines three-lines, Layout. (5 years min) Knowledge and hands on experience of paralleling generation systems (2 years min) Knowledge of OEM manufacturing understanding with ability to communicate for support, design, and production. The candidate will collaborate closely with each customer and ensure correct project documentation. Development of technical change requests and field engineering change orders may be needed. Strong aerospace communication skills are required to all levels of management. Extensive knowledge of electrical/electronic interfaces and integrated functions as it pertains to electrical switchgear, trip units, relays, transformers, circuit breakers, transfer switches, load break switches and wiring methods, controls, and large power distribution systems, PLC Controls and Arc Flash studies. Understanding and design of electrical drawings to include one-lines, three lines layout. MS Office, CAD, and project management software required. Proven project management, organizational, interpersonal and written communication skills. Proven ability to meet project deliverables, meet Customer, job, and business expectations on projects. Able to effectively communicate with a wide variety of departments and people. For positions that utilize a company vehicle, will be required to have a valid driver's license. Who we are!
