The Engineering Project Manager role provides leadership support for projects at the Camden site and is accountable for the engineering management of projects that require selection, design and implementation of equipment or process used to produce solid rocket motors. This position will require strong communication skills, the applicant must be able to create effective presentations and present from upper management to floor operators. This position requires knowledge and experience with defense propulsion manufacturing and operations applicable to solid rocket motor production. This Engineering Manager position will report to the Director of Manufacturing in Camden, Arkansas. Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each) 40% Manage the day-to-day activities of the Camden project teams. This may include determining organizational objectives and delegating assignments to direct reports. Interface with Program, Site and Enterprise Management to establish priorities and assign personnel to meet those requirements. Team administrative functions. 20% Support initial project definition and proposal. This is to include defining scope, mission, resource requirements, time line and impact for proposed projects. This may include supporting management and customer proposals and reviews. 20% Monitor project progress and interface with Program Management, Aerojet Rocketdyne customers, and other Aerojet Rocketdyne functional organizations to communicate progress and to understand and develop resolution to project issues. 10% Plan, monitor and report project and team budgets. Requirements Requires a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and nine (9) or more years of directly related project management experience. Experience with solid propellant propulsion manufacturing is highly desired. Additional requirements: Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills. Experience in building effective relations from the assembly operators/inspectors to CEO/Senior VP. Demonstrated ability to craft, monitor and maintain project activities Desired requirements: Is a highly motivated team player Ability to motivate and inspire change Ability to mentor and coach individuals May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
