We are actively looking for an Engineering Program Director to join our team. As an Engineering Program Director, you will be joining a 3 person collaborative leadership team along with Product and Design leaders. You will provide technical leadership across multiple projects and engineering teams for a Fortune 50 client. You will work closely with Product and Design teams to formulate internal execution roadmaps and ensure client milestones are being achieved. You will also articulate implementation tradeoffs and support the utilization of best practices. You will work closely with stakeholders within the client's organization to build relationships, coordinate delivery across multiple teams, assist with solutioning of delivery issues, ensure adherence to their engineering standards and push for timely decision making. You will manage and provide guidance for Tech Leads and assist as needed in Sprint ceremonies, planning of backlogs and architectural decision making.

This is a role that can be done remotely from anywhere in the US and may involve some travel to SF.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and product implementation efforts.
• Develop relationships within the client organization to remove technical roadblocks.
• Partner with teams (mobile, infrastructure, product. etc.) within the client organization to assist in the development of clear requirements and execution roadmaps
• Proactively communicate the status of engineering and delivery milestones to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide mentorship to a diverse team of onshore and offshore developers.
• Ensure engineering efforts adhere to client's technical standards and requirements.
• Assist in product discovery and scoping sessions with internal and external teams while articulating implementation tradeoffs and driving for appropriately scoped deadlines.
• Be the primary owner of the internal engineering roadmap. Work with Product to update as needed to incorporate changing business needs while broadly socializing current status and timing toward deadlines.
• Ensure Product Managers and Technical Leads are prepared for each Sprint with appropriately sized and pointed backlogs.
• Assist Technical Leads as needed with sprint ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives.
• Identify and surface risks while leading the team in active problem solving and anticipate future risks.
• Manage resource assignments for the projects and proactively identify resource challenges.
• Provide clear, transparent and timely communications on project status to internal and external leadership teams.
• Manage and collaborate with Architects in the definition of application and system architecture.
• Establish a relationship of trust and credibility with clients.

Qualifications

• Experience working in an early stage CTO level role
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering roles.
• 5+ years of technical leadership experience with 10+ person teams.
• Experience developing and releasing on cloud platforms (ie AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Strong written, verbal and technical communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience leading the end-to-end process for a product from conception to release.
• Experience working with a variety of data persistence tools such as Postgres, MySQL and Redis.
• Experience developing server side application logic in either Node or Python.
• Experience developing front end user experiences in Javascript.
• Experience working with Git and Jira.
• B.S. in computer science or comparable work experience.
