Adler Pelzer Group (APG) - a growing global Tier One supplier of Acoustic and Soft Trim products to the automotive industry recently acquired the STS Group. The STS Group is a stock listed, globally leading supplier of components and systems for the commercial vehicle and automotive industries headquartered in France. Together, APG and STS are pioneering operations of Class A surface components for the heavy trucks in the USA.

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the engineering and maintenance teams in the opening of the first brand new STS facility in Salem, Virginia.

The Engineering Manager will work closely with a launch team from our France, Mexico and Michigan locations to assure a successful facility and equipment set up and launch.

The Engineering Manager will be based out of the Salem, Virginia facility, while this is finished, the manager will need to travel frequently to Michigan for pre-launch activities. Relocation to Salem, Virginia is available.

Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager:

• Plan the maintenance of building, equipment and utilities ensuring proper functioning
• Insure the repeatability of the equipment and processes (measures and actions plan)
• Analyze problems while visualizing, planning and performing continuous improvement plans for the processes implemented in the plant (molding, bonding, drilling, etc.)
• Pilot and manage its employee to achieve company objectives
• Participate with other managers to the coordination of tasks to reach plant targets (production launch, quality, security, cost, timing)

Ideal Candidate Profile for the Engineering Manager

• Professional experience of minimum of 5 years in the Engineering and Maintenance area within Automotive Supplier industry or similar.
• Experienced and knowledgeable with various equipment such as presses, automation, robots
• Experience managing different teams & up to 30 peoples from engineer, expert to technician and workers
• Experience and knowledge with plastics, polymers, paint, class A / exterior surfaces
• Experience and knowledge of thermoset or thermoplastic is a plus
• Organized, problem solver and solutions provider with a capacity for innovation
• Adaptable to a new environment (new plant, new people, new processes)
• Engineering degree or equivalent. Education may be substituted with equivalent experience.
