About the role:

We are looking for an Engineering Manager that will help our Software Engineering teams to achieve their full potential. The key objective for this role is to support: coach and grow our people, enhance and sharpen our expertise, so we keep building brilliant software for fast moving organisations.

What we expect from an Engineering Manager:

You will work with high performing software developers, architects, devops engineers, testers, designers and so on, who are distributed across different locations, and coming from different cultures. You will mentor and nurture them on their career path, which you will help to define.

You will work closely with our Chief Software Architect and contribute to the Technical Advisory Board, providing inputs and implementing the vision. You will help establish working practices across the engineering function to create space for learning and develop our expertise.

You will establish a strong relationship with our Delivery teams, especially the Technical Directors and Delivery Architects who you will work with to help provide the inputs and opportunities for the people under your line management.

In this role you will:

• Line manage a group of engineers (including - mentoring, coaching and career development)
• Working with teams across NearForm to identify skills gaps in our overall solution offering and helping to fill them either through talent acquisition or through training initiative
• Sponsor and drive relevant practices across different areas, sharing knowledge and codify learnings and best practices across teams
• Provide technical assets, such as articles, training material, tools or libraries
• Contribute to the Technical Advisory Board, providing inputs, and supporting the implementation of some of their decisions
• Support the presales prototyping work during Discovery engagements
• Develop the career frameworks across all engineering disciplines to help create development plans and goals for employees in this area
• Working with NearForm teams to improve our engineering onboarding process tailored to the individual
• Working with the talent team to create and maintain a robust testing and interview process to give all engineering candidates a positive experience when interviewing for NearForm

As this is a new function to NearForm you will be taking an active part in its establishment.
