Engineering Manager

Columbus Metropolitan Area (On-site)

An engineering firm that services the electric utility industry is seeking a Regional Support Engineering Manager to join their professional services division. The purpose of this division is to provide innovative grid optimization solutions for their utility clients. Areas of focus include, Renewables/Energy Storage, Smart Grid/DA, System Impact Studies and Reliability/System Hardening. The right candidate should be passionate about achieving objectives that will support the transition to a more sustainable electric grid.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the initial point of contact for any client inquiries located within that region.
• Provide leadership and technical direction for the professional services division
• Manage specific engineering business revenue and profitability goals
• Manage the portfolio of technical disciplines within the assigned area and alter the technical capabilities of the department to or in anticipation of changing market conditions. Ensure that all staffing and utilization goals are met by effective planning, organizing, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities.
• Employee development, performance management, compensation administration, employee recruiting, succession planning and adherence to standards of conduct.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
• Registration as a licensed engineer (any state)
• At least 10 years of experience at a professional level in electrical power or communications systems engineering work related to planning, designing, and operating electrical transmission and distribution systems.
• At least 5+ years of leadership experience within the utility industry
