About This Role - Engineering Manager

Genesis is seeking a talented and skilled Engineering Manager to join the technology team. The Engineering Manager will provide architectural and hands-on expertise for a diverse set of software engineers, including mentoring team members, managing the list of enhancements and bug fixes, and removing impediments to productivity. You may also be required to lead and support technology projects by researching, documenting, and assisting with the implementation of software and hardware solutions. The Engineering Manager should possess extensive knowledge of software architecture and continuous deployments and be able to evaluate the security readiness of new features and functionalities of our platform.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain a list of feature enhancements and bugs for all on-premises (cold) based technology solutions by grooming backlog and managing regular sprints
• Direct the daily work activity and design decisions of all Cryptographic Engineers and Network Security Engineers while keeping a security-first mindset
• Remove impediments and coach engineers on removing their own impediments to ensure every member of the team is as productive as possible
• Architect and guide the implementation of all on-premises and cloud-based technology solutions to ensure they are developed with ambitious standards around quality and security
• Prioritize and escalate technical, security, or managerial issues to the Head of Application Engineering in a timely and efficient manner
• Work with Product Managers and Operations Management in identifying and prioritizing enhancements to the software and hardware platforms
• Collaborate with the DevOps team to ensure production, testing, and development environments are created and maintained with the necessary features for success
• Consult with the testing group members to ensure a proper level of testing is conducted while moving code through the software development life cycle

Requirements

• B.S. degree in computer science or related area
• Experience with leading software teams of six or more
• Highly interested in blockchain, cryptocurrency, or general cryptography
• Passionate about rapid development and working with a fast-paced team
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns
• Experience in back-end development, algorithms, and data structures
• Knowledge of high-level languages such as Python, Go, Java, Typescript or C#
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
