What We Expect
- Coach, mentor, and give constructive feedback to help engineers develop and grow their skills
- Build productive relationships with the POs, Architects, and Scrum Masters that work with each of your teams, and partner with those individuals to best support the team
- Inspire, motivate, and challenge your team to look for possibility & opportunity
- Attend regular 1:1s with your manager and bring questions, ideas, and feedback
- Collaborate with engineering managers and other technology leaders to advocate and drive department-wide initiatives to improve tools, process, and work flow
- Work with recruiters to manage the hiring process and identify quality candidates who can be successful in our environment and contribute positively to our culture
- Help establish and champion engineering best practices with a focus on quality, consistency, and sustainability
- Be accountable for your team's successful completion of commitments
- Approach challenges and setbacks with a growth mindset and look for continuous improvement opportunities in our products, processes, and environments
- Strive for personal growth and improvement
What You Will Bring
- 3+ years of experience in leading/ managing engineers
- 6+ years working in technology, ideally in a highly scalable SaaS environment
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with peers in management and other cross-functional stakeholders
- Desire to help build and foster an inclusive and collaborative work environment
- Passion for coaching and growing others in their careers
- Experience hiring, onboarding and coaching new engineers as well as managing senior engineers
- Experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks
- Strong communication skills, including conflict management and resolution
- Ability to manage multiple projects and various deadlines simultaneously, meet commitments and deliver results
- Comfort navigating change and leading teams through new initiatives and a changing business and technical landscape
- Outstanding team player with a customer/consumer experience mindset who can interact effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues and clients
We'd Love To See
- Experience working in the security or fraud prevention space
- Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, Azure
- Familiarity with GCP build pipelines and processes
- Java development experience
- Experience working in a matrixed structure with dynamic teams (Sales, Marketing, Product, Product Marketing, Operations, Technology/Engineering, and senior executives)
- Scaled Agile (SAFe) experience
