Mechanical, Industrial, or Quality Engineering
You will have the invaluable opportunity to professionally apply what you have learned in school directly to solving some of the compression industry's greatest problems. Through your experience you will gain insight into the vast compression industry, develop innovative engineering solutions, while expanding your professional network.
Our engineering interns work side-by-side with a mentor, making hands-on contributions to the compression engineering team. Our interns not only direct and coordinate mechanical development, but they develop concepts and design that directly impact the compression analysis process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Gain a fundamental understanding of reciprocating compression technology
Applying engineering analyses to evaluate and solve the customer's needs
Work with the national sales team to technically review and update Hoerbiger's database of installed compressors
Assist our service centers with operational excellence topics
Create technical reports and presentations evaluating emissions and hydrogen regulations in the US and Canada
Develop process improvement tools
Requirements
HOERBIGER Internship Criteria
Must be a full-time enrolled student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree
Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
Must be able to complete 6-to-12-month Co-op
Must be able to complete 40 hours per week during the Co-op
Willingness to learn from others on the job
Able to perform essential engineering tasks
Willingness to work from the LaPorte, TX shop for the duration of the Co-op
