Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Engineer/System Architect to join the Air Vehicle Subsystems team, to become a part of the Landing Gear, Brakes & Hydraulics group. The position will primarily support the Triton program, and will be located at our Aeronautics Sector in Rancho Bernardo, CA. The position currently would work in a Hybrid capacity, with the ability to work some days remotely during the work week.

Salary Range 2: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. - Component and subsystems requirements, analyses, simulations, development, qualification and production support
- Factory and supplier manufacturing and testing support
- Flight test support
- Subcontracts management team support
- Interfacing technically or programmatically, with internal or external Customers
- Component/assembly-level failure or anomaly investigations and resolution
- Supporting engineering change packages
- Support to pre-design/proposals, supplier selection and contract awards
- Liaison to Material Review Board (MRB) related activities
- Performing computer-aided design (CAD) layouts, specification development, generation of statements of works or other documents
- System design & analysis, software design, ground/flight test and sustainment logistics activities
Basic Qualifications:
- The basic qualifications for an Engineer Systems Architect are a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 2 years of experience, or a Master's degree in STEM
- The basic qualifications for a Principal Engineer Systems Architect are a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 5 years' experience, Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 3 years' experience
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
- Experience with aircraft landing gear, brakes, hydraulics design, development, qualification, manufacturing, analysis, simulation and testing
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently or as part of a team, and effective at interfacing with different functions and different levels of internal/external leadership
- Strong problem-solving abilities, leadership, initiative
