Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Quality Engineer/Principal Quality Engineer to join our team in Baltimore, MD.

The qualified applicant will join the Quality and Mission Excellence team supporting factory test equipment quality operations. We are looking for a high-caliber individual with a strong background in Mission/Quality Assurance along with Electrical, Digital or RF hardware test equipment experience.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. Oversees test equipment design, manufacture and certification for programs and capital projects to include: equipment and software certification and compliance with design and process documentation requirements. Participates in the development of proposals and Basis Of Estimates (BOE's) . May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.

This role may be filled at a level 2 or 3, depending on experience.

Basic Qualifications for a Quality Engineer:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related STEM field
  • 2+ years of experience in the design, manufacture, test, inspection, qualification, delivery of hardware which meets contractual requirements. (0+ years with Master's)
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office products
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related STEM field
  • 5+ years of experience in the design, manufacture, test, inspection, qualification, delivery of hardware which meets contractual requirements. (3+ years with Master's, 0+ years with PhD)
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office products
Preferred Qualifications for Both Levels:
  • Master's degree in a STEM discipline
  • 5+ years of Quality Assurance Engineering experience
  • Experience evaluating or operating electrical, digital or RF test equipment
  • Experience evaluating software design and development processes to confirm design intent using software tools such as Clearcase, ClearQuest or Lab Windows CVI
  • Experience evaluating Requests For Proposal information
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification
  • Familiarity/working knowledge of SAP ERP system
MAQEA

Salary Range: $71,500 USD - $107,300 USD
Salary Range 2: $88,000 USD - $132,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
