Northrop Grumman Defense Systems, Missile Products Business Unit is currently seeking an experienced Propulsion Engineer Level 2 to support our Ramjet and Scramjet Propulsion Systems Development efforts within our Advanced Propulsion and Systems (AP&S) Market Segment. This position can reside in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Support efforts to develop and mature ramjet and scramjet programs and internal research and development activities.
  • Support propulsion and subsystem IPT leads to ensure technical and cost execution of each system component and identify risks and appropriate mitigation activities to achieve program objectives.
  • Work with IPT leads to establish product build requirements (i.e. engineering, planning and inspection documents, schedule).
  • Check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards and specifications.
  • Investigate pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, contractual specification requirements and cost, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Document and present design, manufacturing and testing status as needed.
  • Work closely with manufacturers to ensure that design intent is met in the manufacturing of parts.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering & 2 years of experience or Master's Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance, which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite
  • Working knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
  • Proficient ability to use Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project)
  • Knowledge of ANSI Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Knowledge of general machine shop fabrication processes
  • Knowledge of Design for Assembly / Design for Manufacturing (DFA/DFM).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to meet with various customers, in both government and industry, and to interface with suppliers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current Active Security Clearance
  • Working knowledge of NX
  • Additive manufacturing experience
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing processes
Salary Range: $74,900 USD - $112,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
