SUMMARY

The Engineer-Level II will perform routine engineering tasks and lead engineering projects under the supervision of the Engineering Manager. Work assignments may include creation of processes and procedures, proposal development support, and projects relating to the design, test, and qualification of new products as well as development of non-standard repairs and reverse engineering of components. This position is expected to work semi-independently with the ability to proactively identify issues and constraints and utilize the resources of the organization to work through them to achieve the goals defined by the Engineering Manager without requiring day-to-day task level direction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct design, modeling, stress analysis, testing, etc. (SolidWorks and ANSYS)
• Liaise with customers and vendors as necessary to manage flow of engineering requests
• Lead engineering projects through all project phases including scope and requirements definition, business case analysis, resource planning, risk assessment, contracting/subcontracting, execution, testing/qualification, delivery, and completion
• Develop and implement processes and procedures for shared services engineering
• Manage project cost and schedule within allotted budgets
• Support/lead continuous improvement and standardization projects necessary to achieve quality, delivery and cost targets
• Ensure compliance with applicable company or customer quality requirements in all assigned programs, functions, products, and areas
• Review, maintain, and implement technical data packages and BOM's for applicable systems
• All other duties as assigned
• Infrequent travel may be required

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Required:

• Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in an applicable engineering field from an ABET accredited four-year college or university
• Minimum of 2 - 5 years of experience in engineering
• Must possess a Common Access Card (CAC) or be eligible to receive one
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Proficient in Model Analysis Software (i.e. SolidWorks, ANSYS)

Desired:

• Experience with military qualification of new components, and reverse engineering of existing product
• Five (5) years of experience in an applicable aircraft or aircraft component design, production, maintenance, or modification engineering related role
