Job Description:

The Engineering Prototyping and Fabrication (EP&F) Department (the Bike Shop) within the Test Equipment and Environments Center is seeking an early career Software Engineer. Start date for this position is early 2023. The mission of the Bike Shop is to provide rapid, innovative engineering solutions and prototype and test equipment fabrication to demonstrate new technologies, develop new capabilities, and solve engineering problems throughout the program process.

This position will be focused on, but not limited to, the design, development, integration, test, and maintenance of software for EP&F.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Involvement with product lifecycle from concept development to test.

Working in a vertically integrated environment of many disciplines.

Rapid reaction prototyping.

Hands on involvement with hardware.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), and 18 months of professional work experience.
• Experience developing and implementing high order programming languages (C#, C or C++ is preferred).
• Experience developing and implementing code in a Linux Environment.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:

• Experience with various tools and services such as Azure DevOps, LabVIEW, and Teststand.
• Experience with development and integration of software drivers for the operation of computer hardware interfaces.
• Able to perform successfully in an environment with frequent and direct interaction with customers and peers
• Current/Active DoD security clearance or SSBI.
• ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with coworkers from diverse communities and cultures.
• Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles.
• Understanding the use of Unified Model Language (UML) to visualize software design.
• Experience with development and integration of Product Test Equipment hardware, firmware, and software.
