Job Overview

Energy Engineers design, develop, and audit energy-related projects to find efficient and innovative ways to supply energy of buildings and facilities system. This involves performing excel calculations, cost benefit and financial analyses for projects. Energy engineers work in field-based roles, and often work irregular hours in adverse conditions. This job is well-suited to people with strong scientific and mathematical skills who have an interest in the environment and enjoy finding solutions to problems.


Responsibilities

  • Decarbonization feasibility studies and energy retrofit studies for existing buildings
  • Perform ASHRAE Level I, II and III, and Local Law 87 energy audits and retro commissioning
  • Perform excel calculations, cost-benefit and financial analyses for projects
  • Create building-wide energy reduction plans by conducting energy use analyses of building and facility systems using analytical tools
  • Leverage potential utility rebate, financial, and loan initiatives to support project implementation
  • Support in maintenance and ongoing improvements of existing analytical tool templates and energy audit procedures
  • Support team members in conducting energy efficiency analyses and provide site visit guidance
  • Experience working with cross-discipline teams and or remote teams to execute the project
  • Manage multiple projects, deadlines, technical skill set, monitor quality of work
  • Experience with NYC Local Law 97 and electrification projects is a plus



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent from an Accredited College
  • 4 or more years of relevant experience
  • Experience with HVAC systems in large multifamily and commercial buildings
  • Frequent local field visits in the NYC area will be necessary (approximately 30-40%)
