This position is within the Maintenance and Operations Department of Facilities Management Services. Location: Clarkston, GA 30021 Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:45 p.m. Duties: Assist and instruct other electricians on projects - at times serving as the lead person; will install conduits, wires, pull boxes, switchboards, and switches required in making additions, extensions or alterations of electrical systems. Troubleshoot electrical equipment for preventative repairs and maintenance. Service and repair lighting, power, heating, cooling, and communication systems throughout the university. Must be able to repair, install and test safety devices such as fire alarms, ground fault interrupters, circuit breakers, and fuses. Repair and replace parts in motors, generators, pumps, storage batteries, switchboards, and other electrically operated and controlled equipment. Working with an automated work order system software and desk top computer. Other work as assigned necessary to support the mission of the department and the university. Technical or vocational degree and three years of related experience; or combination of education and related experience.
