Summary This role must have the ability to troubleshoot, repair, install, and calibrate elec. devices and instrumentation. This opening is on Crew C (nights) Key Responsibilities Must be able to troubleshoot and repair all electronic high-tech processing and control systems and associated equipment in plant. For example, TI programs, AB programs, electronic eyes, lighting equipment, Ishida and other scale equipment, metal detector programming, and Ammonia detection systems. Ensures there is no injury to self or others by following safe work practices (including Standard Operating Procedures) and policies. Attend and participate in all training activities for the position. Ensure the acquired skills and knowledge are applied. Ensures sanitation of equipment and housekeeping of the entire facility. Ensures self-compliance with Company policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Must be a team player and help to meet operational goals. Typical Education High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Must hold a certificate of completion from an approved 2-year trade school, or minimum 4 years equivalent experience in an approved industrial environment, ie food processing. (This experience may be all work experience or a combination of work and schooling) Electrical Journeyman License preferred. Relevant Experience 3+ years of instrumentation/electronic/electrical relevant experience. Experience programming and/or PLC operations preferred. Must have successfully completed the Job Skill Evaluation to begin training in the position. Must complete the Structured Job Training program within recommended timeframe to remain in the position permanently. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ranges, averages, fractions, measurements and calculate percentages to make proper adjustments and calibrations, as required. Must have a working knowledge of basic electrical safety practices. Must have an understanding of DC voltage systems (0 to 240V) and AC voltage systems (24 to 480). Must have a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code. Must be able to identify and distinguish colors. Must be able to use voltage testers, meggers, amp probes, and other electrical test equipment. Demonstrate the ability to do basic math, and the ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, be able to read a tape measure, and measure with calipers. Demonstrate the ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work in extreme environments: hot, cold, wet, and slick floors. Must be able to use appropriate personal protective equipment, such as respirators, SCBA, and safety harness as appropriate for given tasks. Must have complete understanding and safe operation of hand, power, and shop tools. Demonstrate manual dexterity in both hands. Must be able to read and understand basic electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Must be able to work in confined spaces. Math and computer skills. Forklift experience preferred, but on-the-job training is provided. Must be able to perform activities such as walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, stair and ladder climbing on a daily basis. Other Information SHIFT SCHEDULE: Employees work a 2-week rotation, working Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (4 shifts) and then Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday (3 shifts) the following week. 12 hour shift - employees will be assigned to either 7AM to 7PM (Crew A and B) or 7PM to 7AM shifts (Crew C and D). The monthly schedule does not include rotating from nights to days. Employees enjoy having a 3-day weekend every other week. Employees will receive 8 hours of time and half overtime on their 48 hour week schedule.
