Want to work for a great company where you will be treated like FAMILY? In this job, you will develop your commercial electrician skills working alongside experienced ABC maintenance personnel. This is a traveling position, with company vehicle provided and full travel expenses paid. Drive time to and from store locations is also PAID! Some overnight travel is required. MUST BE AT LEAST 19 years old.
We are willing to train the right person as an electrician apprentice to join our company!
The ABC electrician handles layout, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, and equipment as detailed below:
Responsibilities
Working with experienced maintenance staff, the Electrician Apprentice will:
Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provides access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes
Follow diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring
Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduits
Pull wiring through conduits
Splice wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together and applying tape or terminal caps
Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment
Installs control and distributions apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit- breaker panels
Connect power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor and installs grounding leads
Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope
Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
Repair faulty equipment or systems
Other duties as assigned by your supervisor
Skills Required
Some commercial electrician skills required; ABC will also provide job-specific commercial training
Self-started, able to work independently
Must pass company-issued background check
Must have solid driving record
Excellent communication skills to work with store staff and corporate office
Physical Attributes Required
Must be able to climb to high spaces, and/or crawl to low spaces
Eye dexterity for long and short-range vision
Ability to lift and move equipment and tools, up to 35 pounds
Physically able to drive long distances in vehicle
Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for electrical wiring and other work
