As the Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Technician in the Extrusion Development Center, you apply your valuable skills to continuously improve Plastipak site operations. You design a variety of devices, blending electrical and mechanical components, to amplify our bottle making capabilities.

You Will

• Design electrical systems by developing and testing components

• Evaluate electrical system products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs and applying knowledge of electricity and materials

• Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components and by soliciting observations from operators

• Monitor power distribution and consumption on blow molding equipment

• Interact with Vendors and Contractors to confirm product specifications and equipment installation

• Design equipment, electrical panels and electrical systems, 480V and under

• Program, Design and Troubleshoot Servo Systems and associated Interface Systems

• Apply your expertise to assist with installation, troubleshooting, and debugging Production Equipment

• Maintain project documentation, including revision controls

You Have

• Associates Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electro-Mechanical Engineering or other Technology field

• Minimum of three years of work experience in a related capacity

• Working knowledge of the following: PLCs, AutoCad, hydraulics & pneumatics, vision systems, servo systems, circuit breakers, fuses, switchgears, distribution panels, transformers and wiring

• Experience &/or education in National Electrical Code (NEC)

• Understanding of Communication Systems & Communication Protocols, such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, Modbus, Profibus, & Devicenet

• Experience with Injection Molding Machinery or Blow Molding Machinery (preferred)

• Ability to travel approximately 10%
