Job Overview
Position Objective:
Through the practice of servant leadership and a passion for Aagard's success, enhance team member's lives, ensuring technical excellence in safely delivering quality, best value products and services, on time, to our internal and external customers
Primary Responsibilities
Develop, manage, provide work direction and feedback for Electrical Engineering department team members
Provide technical leadership on projects
Ensure safe work practices
Implement plans and strategies to ensure successful completion of projects
Understand and conform to applicable code and standard including Aagard standards, customer specifications, UL, NFPA, industry Standards, and safety standards
Provide feedback and support on Aagard's process and standards for continuous improvement
Troubleshoot issues and invent solutions
Research technologies to incorporate into our products
Evaluate risks and develop plans for how to manage them
Be involved in project phase approvals (inception, planning, design, etc.)
Be a dynamic presence that brings positive energy and intensity into each interaction
Keep the proper confidences (pricing, technologies, personnel, etc.)
Recommend and implement up-to-date processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs
Communicate openly, share knowledge, build positive collaboration between departments
Support and contribute to department and company metrics
Be actively engaged in continuous improvement projects and culture
General Responsibilities:
Adhere to, support and promote the Aagard vision and culture statements
Demonstrate professional, respectful interaction with other team members
Accurately and professionally represent Aagard to customers and vendors
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering field required, five years of related experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Previous leadership experience
Knowledge of packaging machinery, specifications, and processes
Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems
Knowledge of electrical components and pneumatic schematics
Ability to visualize concepts, develop new designs, and improve existing designs
Ability to engage others and lead the team to success
Understanding of what drives cost
Self-confidence and the ability to be largely self-directed
Ability to communicate professionally with internal and external customers verbally and in writing, including presentation skills
Experience with CAD systems and Microsoft products
Previous experience with AutoCAD Electrical preferred
Ability to learn and use Aagard specific software
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate data
Ability to take action and be proactive
Strong time management and organizational skills
Passion for excellence
Ability to travel as needed
