Electrical Engineer

Modis is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a Direct Hire position in Carrollton, TX. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for all phases of product R&D and executing development to market. Electrical Engineer will be optimizing available resources and providing simplified solution to the non-technical support like sales and marketing. You must have a minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience and developing embedded controller systems. This is an excellent opportunity with an exciting company!!!

Essential Duties:

• Performing engineering R&D, planning and scheduling projects accordingly to execute development
• Complete ownership of design from concept to production, including prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of designs
• Overseeing concept generation and feasibility studies
• Overseeing design for manufacturing and supply chain
• Coordinating with team members, clients and other contractors for carrying out the execution of project responsibilities
• Overseeing prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of designs;
• Performing system architecture and design, testing and verification at an instrument and subsystem level;
• Creation of mixed signal PCB design for embedded processor applications;
• Designing and developing of High Voltage board level isolation and system design in excess of 1kV
• Specifying, modeling, simulation and analysis of circuits
• Analyzing and designing schematic capture, PCB layout design in an industry CAD tool (Orcad/PADs/Altium)
• Embedded Controller programming and experienced with MSP430 family microcontrollers;
• Performing and diagnosing IoT connectivity, Bluetooth / WiFi designs and implementation;
• Designing and implementing architecture of electronic and electro-aquostic subsystems; and
• Performing field testing of units and data acquisition verification.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Experience and working knowledge with analog transducer interface and design
• Experience and working knowledge with measurement systems and sources of measurement error
• Experience and working knowledge using Embedded FreeRTOS or equivalent embedded RTOS design
• Familiarity with test and measurement tools, O-Scopes / analyzers
• Meets or betters established deadlines or schedules
• Maintain a high morale, cooperative working relations and positive attitude within the Company and with clients
• Self-starting and assertive, high energy, highly organized and ownership mentality
• Excellent time management, organizational and follow-up skills with ability to demonstrate initiative and work independently
• Ability to work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
